The total thickness of the flooring includes wear layer, film and spc base thickness. Normally, it’s from 4mm to 6m. The wear layer is the top surface of the rigid core vinyl flooring, it’s like the bodyguard for your floor. The options are from 0.2mm to 0.7mm. For wear layer, it’s true that the thickner the better. The thicker the wear layer (or, the higher the MIL number), the more resistant your floor will be to scratching and scarring. But the rigid core luxury vinyl flooring is specially manufactured to be ultra-thin, usually measuring no thicker than 6mm.
